The Babine Special was originally designed as a Steelhead pattern for British Colombias Babine River System. It also works well for Salmon and large Trout. The pattern is made up of two eggs with some hackle applied and works well as a floating egg pattern and is also used as a shrimp imitation as well. It is a good pattern to drift when fish are feeding on drifting eggs and is a must for every steelhead fishermans fly box.
